Special thanks to THE BAND HOUSE in Shreveport, Louisiana for providing us with passes to this year's Summer NAMM session.  Altogether the show was a hit.  If you ever get a chance to attend a NAMM show do not pass it up.  Everything musical that you can imagine and some stuff you never thought of all under one roof.  The best part is you get to try the gear in most cases.  How much fun is that!

Yamaha teams up with Paiste at the their booth.
The Evans booth was setup to allow you to play their new EC2 series drum heads and the new EC2 coated heads for toms and snares.
Over at the Zildjian booth there was no escaping the K Custom Hybrid line.  I played them all and they are all that.  Especially the 13 inch hats.
More bling-bling from the Zildjian booth.  I was particularly impressed with the ZHT line.  For a sheet cymbal, this line was awesome.  They offer a Master Sound Hi Hat in this line as well as 10 inch mini hats.  These cymbals sound great... nothing like the ZBT line.
I have always wanted one of these.

Vater was there and so was every tool in their line.  The counter top you see there is actually one big practice pad for testing the sticks.
I got an opportunity to meet and talk with Ray Ayotte about his extreme new line of wood hoop snares.  SWEET!
Exciting new custom finish from TAYE Drums.
SONOR'S SQ2 X-RAY Acrylic kit.  Looks like what goes around comes on back around.

Stagg Music had an impressive line of dark hand hammered cymbals to choose from.
Mapex's Orion and Saturn lines were on hand with luscious finishes as well.

Factory Metal Percussion was on hand with an array of interesting and unique percussive instuments.  I was most moved by their line of cross shaped bells.  These were very bright and clear.  If you want to add a NEW sound to your setup you should check these out.
Look who was performing demos over at the Roland space.  None other than Johnny Rabb - King of the one handed drum roll. SWEET!
TAMA went all out this year.
One of TAMA's impressive Star Classic Maple wrapped finishes.
TAMA's entire hardware line was available for close inspection.  If you are a gear head like me then this is very cool.

Looks like TAMA is getting into the classic Acrylic game too.  You have to admit ... this kit looks cool.
TAMA's new WarLord series snare line.  The picture just won't do them justice.
Like I said......
Ahh it's Steve Ferrone tearing it up over at the Gretsch booth.
Hey,  have you seen KickandSnare.com?

Paistie had plenty of dark complex cymbals from their signature line...  once again, I played them all.
Ahhh yes Paistie 2000s and Rudes...  now these bring me back to the day.
I was impressed with the fit and finish... not to mention the sound, of the entire line of DDRUM drums.
Very cool...

DDRUM also offers exotic wood finishes in their USA Custom Shop line.  This USA Custom Shop kit is #3 of 10 kits that will be made in conjunction with Keller Wood Products using the wood from a single Kevazingo Bubinga log found in Gana, West Africa.

This is an exact replica of Mike Marsh's Dashboard Confessional 2006 tour kit.

Vic Firth was on hand with their expanded line of POWER TOOLS.  It was cool to be able to compare the feels of the various models.

Look who I ran into at the Vic Firth Booth...  Terry Bozzio.

SWEETNESS!

Derrek Roddy was also at the show talking it up at the SONOR booth.
