WHERE IS MY DRUMKEY by Ron Petitt 05-06

One of the biggest problems I ever have during setup and tear down is setting my drum key down and forgetting where I put it.  Even putting the key in my pocket can be an annoyance with the constant in an out.  I have decided to share a few tips here that have really worked for me.

This may seem silly, but it works.  You can get these spring loaded key chains at just about any Wal-Mart and put a pearl style (or any drum key with a keychain hole) on there for an easy access solution to the long lost drum key.

Here is another idea that I use.  I keep a key with my snare drums at all times.  I bought a few of these coiled key chains at the dollar store so I could keep a few of them in my gig-box.  They work well attached to your belt loop during set up or tear down too.

As you can see, the key will reach any drum on the kit.
