Starting from Texarkana Texas, David Rollins has come a long way and has a long way to go on his journey in the world of music. One thing is for sure… he has the drive, heart, and attitude that makes for a successful musician. His recent move from Texarkana to the Nashville area has afforded him better opportunities as well as the many rigors of being a professional musician. What I have noticed most about David since the first time I met him is that he will always take the time to talk and catch up. A couple of years ago he came to Shreveport, La. to play a gig with Lee Baker at Summer Grove Baptist Church fresh off of a week long stint with his main band – Pocket Full of Rocks. I don’t think he had slept much at all in the last two days prior to getting there and after he set up his gear he still took time to talk and see how things were going. When you ask people they say, “That’s just David.”
Most drummers can work a life time and not accomplish what David has already. He has built up quite a reputation for his technical mastery as well as his tight studio capabilities. He has an instructional DVD and is fully endorsed. Not many guys will ever get to do those sort things. When you get to know David though, you begin to understand that he takes nothing for granted and he did not get there overnight.
